U-16 squad train on a Tuesday 6:00-8:00 and compete in the Cheshire East Development League. Training is held immediately prior to Senior matches with the intention of the 'older juniors' starting to get bench time with the senior teams to provide a pathway into competition at senior level.

 

New players always needed to build on the exisitng squad. All levels of experience and ability are catered for. 

 

2011 Phase 3 Summer League

 

Week 6 Egerton Jets win all 3 games! 

 

Well done to the squad for this Sunday's clean sweep, with wins over Holmes Chapel, Alsager and combined Wilslow Wizards. Good to see the team starting to work together on offence after some harsh words during a time out. Good work at both ends from Micheal and Richard Page once they woke up from the effects of Sunday's sleepover.  Good support from the ever improving Alex Wright. Great debut from Adam Collins and usual mixed bag from Jonus, Keanu and Charles two parts inspiration/two parts perspiration. Managed to claw victory from the jaws of defeat vs Wilslow to just keep the loss column at zero. Keep up the good work guys.

 

2010 Autumn Phase 1 Week 1

 

With all teams turning up with reduced squads Congleton players were shared amongst the Kings and Egerton squads. Egerton managed one win and a tied games with Kings which was abandoned with time running out and injury to Charles Malipitan resulting in the call for an Ambulance. Two weeks later Charles emerged off the crutches and back onto court. What powers of recovery.

 

2010 Phase 2 Spring League

 

Week 1 The team looked rusty after 4 weeks lay-off and despite leading in all three games only managed to secure one win, one draw and one loss. Didn't manage to stay focussed down the stretch and let a couple of games slip. The two free throws made by Congleton as time expired to earn a draw was a big learning point for all concerned.

 

Week 2 wins over Holmes Chapel and Congleton, loss to Poynton and win vs Poynton (extra match played due to time available). Well done to those who managed to play on the Bank Holiday. We were missing 9 players yet still managed to come out with some victories. Much more unselfish play, starting to look like a team.

 

Week 3 win over Poyton, draw versus Holmes Chapel and loss to Alsager. Back to strength with 9 players some of whom also helped the Holmes Chapel team out as they only had three players.  Photos taken on the day are featured below (Egerton  Jets are in blue (currently using Macclesfield Youth Games U-13 squad kit).  With William, Anna, Edward and hopefully Susan to add to todays players we will be looking to field two teams in the near future.

 

 

Well done to Alex Price who joined other Junior Jets from around the Jets Junior network to take part in a skills clinic then compete at half-time of the Cheshire Jets fixture vs Leicester Riders at the Northgate Arena in March. Six points on the day was a good haul with as can be seen Alex matched up against slightly taller opposition.
